Today is the big feather competition on the Island of Delight. Birds of many colors parade in front of the birds with duller coats, hoping to be voted the most beautiful bird on the island.  There are many ooohhs and aaahhhhs. Then Pretty Me steps into view and all the birds faint at her beauty.  She stands at the top of a tree looking for adoration.  So busy with singing her own praises, Pretty Me doesn't realize a typhoon is headed towards the island.  Once the storm passes, a "strange object" stands in place on the tree where Pretty Me once stood.  It is Pretty Me but her beautiful feathers have been blown off and she is bald and homely.  Pretty Me learns an important lesson on "beauty being only feather deep."
